How to create a file on a computer


Create a file in Windows

You will first have to click on the file explorer application icon, which is located on the taskbar at the back of the screen. You can too press Windows + E keys to open file explorer. Then go to the folder where you want to create the file. On the left side of the file explorer window, click the folder in which you want to create the file on your computer.

Next, you will have to click on the start tab. It’s in the upper left of the file explorer window. When you click, a toolbar will appear from the top. Another option is to right-click on a blank space in the window to open the drop-down menu.

When you have done these steps, you will have to click on ‘new item’. It’s on the toolbar, and when you click it, a drop-down menu will appear. Next, you will need to select a file type. In the drop-down menu, you will have to click on the type of file you want to create. When pressed, it will appear in the selected folder. Therefore, next you will have to enter a name for your file.

Finally, you will have to press the ‘enter’ button. In doing so, the file name is saved and the file is created in the place you have previously selected.
