Netflix takes nominations for the Golden Globes | Digital Trends Spanish

2020 was a great year for the different platforms of streaming. In this sense, Netflix was one of the companies that obtained the most dividends.

The company has just confirmed this success with nominations for the 2021 Golden Globes, where it has obtained a wide advantage over the other platforms.

In fact, if we add film and television, Netflix has received 42 nominations, that is, more than half of the total of all the other distributors combined (83).

In the case of cinema, Netflix is the most nominated distributor with 22 nominations. Among them stands out Mank Y The Trial of the Chicago 7.

It is also the most nominated television distributor (20). At this point they stand out The Crown, Ozark Y Ratched, with six, four and three nominations, respectively.

Netflix is followed (well behind) by HBO with seven, Hulu (6), Pop TV (5) and Showtime (5).

A relevant aspect is that several important contenders for the awards were excluded and did not arrive due to the delays associated with the coronavirus pandemic. In this group stand out Succession, Y The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Although Netflix clearly prevails in nominations, in 2020 it had problems to specify them in awards.

We will have to see how the awards for 2021 are defined and how Netflix manages to prevail against its competitors (and if it manages to do so).
