Chevrolet’s electric range grows: Bolt EV and EUV 2022 | Digital Trends Spanish
The Chevrolet Bolt reached the mark in 2017. In a few months it was positioned as a car with good sales, in addition to attracting a considerable number of new customers for General Motors (GM), who had not previously considered a vehicle of this brand but that, thanks to the Bolt, they fixed their eyes on her.
Today there are more than 100,000 Bolts circulating in the world.
As 2022 models and with the intention of bringing a car with these characteristics to more people, Chevrolet presents the new Bolt EV and Bolt EUV (with SUV overtones). Both are part of GM’s global strategy to launch 30 new products by 2025.
Despite being very similar and sharing structure, there are marked differences such as length: the EUV is six inches longer, a dimension that is appreciated in the dimensions of the interior, where there is an extra three inches of legroom. The front varies and the light groups, front and back, have their own identity.
Inside you’ll find a sports steering wheel as well as a 10.2-inch instrument panel and an eight-inch center screen. The selector of changes is by buttons with the intention of saving space in the interior. For their part, the seats have triangular figures and have contrasting seams.
Full of technology
Both models offer the new Super Cruise autonomous driving system, which already has more than 200,000 miles of open roads in the United States and Canada. Hands-free driving is achieved by sensors and LiDAR.
At the time of operation, a camera determines where the driver turns. If the driver takes his eyes off the road for a long time, the Bolt will issue a warning to ask the driver to look back, if not, sounds and visual alerts will be emitted to regain control.
There are other safety systems such as emergency braking, forward collision alert, lane departure warning and pedestrian detection, just to mention a few within the extensive list of equipment.
As it is a car with a great technological load, connectivity will not be lacking: Alexa, Spotify, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and 4G LTE WiFi Hotspot are available.
Charging and batteries
The Bolt EV’s battery is a 65 kWh lithium-ion battery and achieves a performance of 259 miles (416 kilometers). Due to its larger dimensions, the EUV reaches a 250 miles (402 kilometers) range. If the issue of battery reliability has made you give up on an EV, Chevrolet will make you reconsider, as it offers an eight-year or 100,000-mile warranty.
Chevrolet claims the Bolt can charge enough power for 100 miles of range in just 30 minutes. And to ensure available cargo anywhere and anytime, Chevrolet will expand its network of public chargers; They promise to triple their number by 2025. The more than 80,000 devices can be viewed from the myChevroletApp application.
Prices for the Bolt EV and EUV are lower than last year: $ 31,995 for the EV and $ 33,995 for the EUV.
“We have lowered the base price of the Bolt EV by more than $ 5,000 over the 2021 model, proving our commitment to making EVs affordable for everyone,” said Steve Hill, Chevrolet vice president.
You can now order the launch version with extra equipment for $ 43,495.
