Porsche 911 GT3, 510 hp with natural aspiration and manual gearbox | Digital Trends Spanish

Most high-end sports cars have moved to engines with some type of compressor. Fortunately for the most purists, there are some vehicles that still use the traditional configuration of aspirated engine, manual transmission, contained weight and rear wheel drive.

The new Porsche GT3 features a 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, capable of turning very high with a redline of 9,000 revolutions per minute. Power reaches 510 horses and torque 346 lb-ft, 10 units above the previous generation in both cases.

The transmission can be a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and, for fans, Porsche offers a six-speed manual transmission as an option. Although PDK technology makes the transition in less time, the enjoyment of the three pedals and shifting at will continues with a good number of followers.

The front suspension is new, now with double wishbones, while the multi-link type is mounted on the rear axle; both axles have stabilizer bars and for the first time it is added rear wheel steering, variable according to speed.

The wheels on the front axle are 9.5 inches wide by 20 inches in diameter and are covered by 255/35 ZR 20 tires. Additionally, they sit on massive 408mm brake discs with six-piston calipers.

On the rear axle, the tires are 315/30 ZR 21 and the brake discs are 380 mm with four-piston calipers.

The GT3’s weight of just 1,418 kilograms can be carried up to a top speed of 198 miles per hour (320 kph), with an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds taking it to 124 mph in 11.9 seconds.

All these improvements managed to stop the clock at 6 minutes 59.927 seconds when taking a lap around the Nürburgring racetrack.

The interior retains the lines seen in the 992 models, but in short it is much more sporty: the bucket seats and the roll cage give a very clear example of this, in addition, the dashboard now has the option of track, where the indicators change of the instrument panel and leaves only pressures and temperature, what is necessary for the circuit.

The price will be around $ 188,000 with delivery starting in May 2021.
