Honda Civic 2022, arrives with important changes | Digital Trends Spanish
It was in November 2015 that the tenth generation of the Civic was launched. After this time, by 2021 you could already see the passing of the years since the market advances by leaps and bounds, which made the need for a renewal obvious.
The brand identity is undeniable, which will make the most neophytes doubt if it is an Accord or a Civic. The total length grows a little and with two very well marked straight lines on the side, Sling says that a sense of motion is achieved in static. The Sport version differs with touches of black, a hue that is repeated on the well-designed wheels, similar to those of the BMW 1 and 2 series.
Honda just introduced its new design philosophy that calls “Human Centric”, the elements of the interior are focused on the main user: the driver. They have applied this idea for the eleventh generation and they make it noticeable in the cabin, to create an area where everything is in the place you expect.
Despite how simple the interior may seem, there are touches that make a big difference: the integration of the air conditioning system grilles goes over a honeycomb mesh that crosses from side to side of the dash. Screen up, climate controls down and a classic gear selector. It doesn’t matter if you had a 2005 Civic or a 2021 Civic, you’ll know where to find the controls for everything.

Let it be a simple cabin does not forget technological trends, if you have followed the advancement of the segment, you will know that everything is going to more screens and larger, so the Civic 2022 has a new 10.2-inch cluster, configurable to your liking and with a small Civic in the center of the dash that shows you which lights are on or which directional light is on.
Android Auto and Apple Car Play have become a must in a car, these are now wireless, you just activate your Bluetooth, leave your phone on the wireless charger, turn on the new Bose system with 12 speakers and enjoy the trip. Nice detail that there is already a knob for the volume of the audio equipment, something that was highly criticized in the last generation.
Honda has already forgotten about the manual transmission for this new Civic, for now there will only be continuously variable automatic transmission and two engine options, both in four cylinders:
- 2.0 liters, 158 hp and 138 lb-ft
- 1.5 liters, turbo, 180 hp and 177 lb-ft
The commercialization of the Civic 2022 in its sedan version will begin before the end of the year 2021. Then the hatchback, Si and Type R versions will arrive to complement the range of this new car.
