Intel launches its new H-series processors for laptops | Digital Trends Spanish

At CES 2021, Intel announced a new series of processors for laptops, specifically, the 11th generation H series, which would be focused on video games or heavier tasks. And it took several months for those chips to be officially released alongside a handful of laptops from various manufacturers.

The new Tiger Lake-H processors are built on 10nm technology, and will have a 19 percent performance increase over the previous generation, according to Intel. The most powerful is the Core i9-11980HK, which comes with eight cores at 4.5 Ghz; two of these cores can be clocked up to 5 GHz.

According to the company, the i9-11980HK will perform better than AMD’s Ryzen 9 5900HX in games like Hitman 3, Far Cry New Dawn Y Rainbow Six Siege. Meanwhile, the Core i5-11400 would have to, in certain cases, be on par with the most powerful -in theory- Ryzen 9 5900HS.

What Intel did not mention in their presentation was related to the power use of these processors, which is always important when using them in laptops. Either way, this should vary depending on the configuration of each computer, the size of the battery and the components that are included.
