Netflix Announces Castlevania Series With Richter Belmont | Digital Trends Spanish

Netflix announced that it is working on a new animated series of Castlevania that will have an alternate story to the narrative thread of Trevor Belmont and Shypha, protagonists of the series Castlevania which has four seasons on Netflix.

The announcement was made as part of Netflix Geeked Week, an event within the framework of the E3 video game fair in which the streaming company shows its main productions related to the world of video games, anime and geek culture.

The Castlevania Universe is getting even bigger.

Kevin Kolde, one of the producers of the series Castlevania, noted that the new series will star the vampire slayer Richter Belmont, who is the son of Trevor and Shypha, and the sorceress Maria Renard. The series will take place in France in 1792 during the French Revolution.

Richter Belmont is the protagonist of the video game Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and it also has an important role in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, one of the most beloved video games in the series.

The announcement of the new series confirms the report released last April, when we reported that Netflix was working on at least one production based on the popular vampire action game from the Japanese company Konami.

Netflix did not offer details about the series’ premiere date and did not show a teaser or promotional image.

In addition to the announcement of the new series of Castlevania, Netflix showed trailers for the Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness series and The Cuphead Show, both series inspired by video games. The streaming giant is also working on a second season of the live action series of The witcher (also inspired by a video game) and a new series of Masters of the Universe, the 1980s cartoon featuring the hero He-Man.
