Netflix has shown the first minutes of Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, the new series of the platform based on the popular Capcom video game saga.
It is a three-minute video of the first episode of the series that will be released on the streaming platform on July 8.
The trailer focuses on Jason and the Mad Dogs of the United States Army. While the record isn’t enough to give you an idea of what the series will look like, it does provide a glimpse of the Mad Dogs in a helicopter and another vehicle crashing in the distance.
Jason and his team then decide to defy orders and engage the local Penamstan soldiers in a battle to rescue the survivors of the crash.
In a previous statement, Netflix revealed what the new series will address:
“The special forces that the Mad Dogs wanted to rescue were already dead, but the team saw that they were moving strangely. However, they were able to escape and Jason went on to become a US federal agent with Leon S. Kennedy ”, collects an article from Engadget.
“Six years after the event, Jason and Leon were in the middle of investigating an incident of hacking a top-secret White House file (later found to be related to a biology lab in Shanghai), when the lights suddenly went out and a horde of zombies emerged. Meanwhile, in Penamstan, Claire Redfield discovers evidence of a terrifying experiment conducted during the Penamstan civil war. “
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will feature the voices of Nick Apostolides and Stephanie Panisello, who will reprise their roles as Leon and Claire from the remake of Resident Evil 2 which came out in 2019.
